This month Jenoptik is promoting its laser machine Votan W that can be used for a variety of processes including welding chute channels in instrument panels.
Jenoptik's Laser Processing Systems business unit has created a switchable laser line with the Votan W for large components. The switchable laser line is moved along the welding area via a linear unit. In this way, contactless processing of components with dimensions exceeding the normal scan field of a scanning system, for example the welding of airbag chute channels in instrument panels or large car body parts, is made possible. The Votan W uses diode lasers and can be used for the welding of plastic housings, parking sensors in bumpers, metal housings, cast aluminium and metals with minimum deformation.
