IPG Photonics, provider of high-power fibre lasers, announced at Photonics West a new generation of kilowatt-class low-mode Ytterbium fibre lasers offering lower cost per watt of laser power, operating expenses and service requirements.
The 1060nm laser from IPG offers customers simple operation and extends the range of applications for fibre lasers. 'This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our introduction of the first kilowatt-class fibre lasers,' said Valentin Gapontsev, CEO of IPG. 'Drawing from our deep experience from more than 5,000 kilowatt-class fibre lasers in demanding industrial applications, our new generation of fibre lasers improves upon IPG's product performance, reliability and low cost of ownership.'
