David Lawton
Market Development Manager, EMEA, LATAM, APAC, Kentek Corporation
David Lawton has been in Laser Safety for over 13 years, joining Kentek in 2021 having spent the previous 9 years with another laser safety solutions provider, and is responsible for all markets and sectors outside the US, Canada, and Mexico.

He has worked and consulted in many product sectors including Science and Research, Industry, and Medical, and can assist with Containment and Controls, Product Classification, and Compliance and Training.

Lastly, he is very approachable and deeply understands International Standards and Norms. This allows him to help customers through simplifying the approach to laser safety, by giving an overview of the applicable ‘rules’ and how to apply them in a pragmatic way, whilst dispelling some of the ‘smoke and mirrors'.

Federico Bonaldo
Physicist - R&I Department, Castellini
The passion for science and for understanding the physical principles governing natural phenomena, led Federico Bonaldo to pursue M.Sc. in Experimental Physics, and join Castellini’s Solution Research and Innovation team.

For the past four years at Castellini Solution, he has been developing his knowledge and applying my expertise in high power fiber lasers for material processing in industrial applications, including laser cutting, welding, scribing, surface cleaning and ablation.

The pursuit of understanding the fundamental interactions between radiation and matter is the driving force in Federico’s professional life, which fuels his interest in scientific research, and motivates him to explore the frontiers of knowledge in this captivating field.

Scott Wohlstein
President, The Photonics Group
Scott Wohlstein is the President and Photonics Specialist at The Photonics Group, where he has been guiding clients from initial start-ups to global and public organizations since 1980.

Scott is a highly sought-after expert in integration and applications, as well as a recognized subject matter expert in compliance and safety for light-based products and processes, being well-versed in U.S. regulations (21 CFR 1040.10/.11) and international standards (IEC/EN 60825 and IEC/EN 62471).

His work has been published in various journals, including Photonics Spectra, Laser Focus, and Lasers and Optronics, where he served on the Editorial Advisory Board. He has also contributed to Measurements & Controls, where he wrote a column and served as Consulting Editor, as well as Compliance Engineering.

His research paper, “Cooling Components with Chilled Tap Water” (Electro-Optical Systems Design, 1982), was selected for inclusion in “Selected Papers on Laser Design” (Hugo Weichel, 1991) as part of the SPIE Milestone Series (Vol. MS29).
