Optical fibre manufacturer and custom assembly specialist Fiberguide Industries has named Steve Wilkes as vice president of sales and marketing. Wilkes will take on responsibility for identifying new markets and applications for Fiberguide’s coated optical fibres, bundles, assemblies and arrays. He will drive sales growth by developing customer relationships in key markets, as well as managing the company’s global sales and marketing team. Wilkes will also oversee Fiberguide’s Application Engineering Group, in order to position the company’s technical experts closer to customers.
Wilkes brings more than a decade of optics experience to Fiberguide, having previously worked as business unit manager of electrical and fibre optic connections at Delphi Connection Systems. Prior to that, he was the vice president of QPC Fibre Optic. Wilkes holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BSci in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
