PerkinElmer has introduced its Gigahertz Photon Detection Module (GPDM) for analytical and clinical diagnostic applications under low light level conditions. The module, the latest addition to PerkinElmer's Channel Photomultiplier family, offers a high dynamic counting range of between 1 cps and 1 Gcps in a single operating mode, coupled with extremely low-noise performance. The Gigahertz module's high dynamic range and high signal to noise (S/N) ration allows fluorescence and luminescence measurements to be made with a single detection system.
