The new Paladin Compact 355-4000 from Coherent is a solid-state, ultraviolet laser that delivers 4W of quasi-CW output (at 355nm). The laser has a small footprint and can be either air-cooled or water-cooled. The laser’s beam parameters (beam diameter = 1 mm, M² <1.2) are identical to the larger 4W Paladin model, meaning that the new version can be integrated into existing optical systems.
The Paladin Compact 355-4000 requires just one single, long-lifetime pump diode rather than two pump diodes. It is suitable for the laser direct imaging of high-density printed circuit boards and wafer inspection. It is also suitable for semiconductor processing or glass scribing.
