nLIGHT has released Pearl high-brightness modules, which are available at 915, 938, 976, and 980nm for pumping either erbium-based or ytterbium-based fibre lasers. The Pearl series offers high reliability and efficiency by coupling nLIGHT’s high-brightness nXLT single emitters with a proprietary optical design for efficient fibre coupling. Commercially nLight can offer up to 50W from a 200um (NA<0.2) with higher powers and brightnesses under development. Pearl modules use multiple single emitters for ultra low current operation with unrivalled efficiency in an ultra compact conductively cooled package. Input current for a 50W / 200um fibre module is only 5.3A with a typical electrical / optical efficiency of ~54 per cent. The devices will be distributed by Laser Lines.
