Arden Photonics has launched the VF-20 Trio, an interferometer designed to produce high quality images of the ends of optical fibres enabling estimation of quality and flatness. It produces high quality images with good fringe contrast. It also has two operational modes – inspect and fringe. Therefore separate inspection equipment is not required, which saves time as end face quality and flatness can be checked in one go. Three selectable magnification settings, giving 1mm, 500μm and 150μm field of view, allow users to view a wide range of fibre sizes and angled as well as flat fibres can be measured. Analogue and digital outputs are provided and it is also suitable for use with Vytran and other splicer holders. A software package is available, which can acquire, save and print images.
