Gooch and Housego has introduced a range of visible wavelength versions of its fibre-coupled acousto-optic devices for microscopy and instrumentation applications. The G&H visible wavelength Fiber-Q is based on the company’s infrared fibre-coupled products and incumbent visible free space solutions.
Concentrating primarily on polarisation maintaining products, G&H has demonstrated high PER and low insertion loss using qualified processes and industry standard TeO2 cells. Depending on the specific wavelength required, optimised PM or SM visible fibre is used.
Scientific lasers and biophotonics applications such as fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, imaging and spectroscopy are the primary applications for instruments requiring visible Fiber-Qs. Optimised RF drivers for the Fiber-Q are also available.
