Superabrasives specialist Engis has introduced its advanced wax mounting system to the UK wafer polishing and optics market. The modular system, which has been designed to be fast and easy to use, allows for repeatable wax bond thickness, provides improved part flatness and thickness, and requires minimal operator skill and intervention. Particular features of the Engis wWafer mounting system include fast mounting block cooling, adjustable pneumatic pressure and rapid mount and de-mount time. Tap water can be used in the machine and the integrated non-contact heat dissipation system maintains cooling water cleanliness for direct drainage. The modular system, which includes a CE compliant, interlocked enclosure, has 180mm capacity and is available in 2-, 3- or 4-station versions. Multiple units can be run in-line.
