Yenista Optics, a manufacturer of fibre optic test and measurement equipment, has opened a support centre in Singapore.
This facility will offer technical support, as well as repair and calibration services, to Yenista’s customers throughout the Asia Pacific region. The opening comes only one month after opening a similar centre in Shanghai, China.
The centre will also offer repair services on legacy Tunics and Osics equipment from Photonetics and Nettest. Those optical instruments and corresponding technology were transferred from Anritsu to Yenista in 2009. Over 350 units dating from what the company calls the 'bubble years' (1999 to 2001) have been successfully repaired since the transfer.
Dr David Heard, sales and marketing manager, said: 'The goal of our support centre in Singapore is to be close to the optical component manufacturers located in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, and to support the thriving photonics community in Australia. Our customers will benefit from a dedicated technical support and short turnaround times on servicing of equipment.
Yenista Optics will exhibit at the thirteenth Fiber Optics Expo in Tokyo, Japan from 10 to 12 April 2013. The full range of the recently released high-power tunable lasers designed for component testing, TUNICS T100S-HP, will be showcased for the first time in Asia.
