OSI OptoElectronics has introduced its APD Series 8-150, a new family of silicon avalanche photodiodes optimised for operation in the 800nm wavelength region. Available in hermetically-sealed metal packages, the devices operate over high bandwidths up to 1GHz. The new APD models feature 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, and/or 1.5mm diameter active areas and exhibit low temperature coefficients of 0.45/V degrees Celsius. Storage temperatures for the new devices are from -55 to 125°C, with an operating temperature range from minus 40 to 100°C, maximum.
